COVID-19 Information

At Leggett & Platt, the health and safety of our employees is our top priority. We are committed to operating our facilities safely, while continuing to deliver the products, services, and support our valued customers need. This is possible due to the hard work and commitment of our dedicated employees.

We want to update you on the measures we are taking in response to COVID-19.

CROSS-COMPANY PANDEMIC RESPONSE – We have activated a cross-company Crisis Response Team, with a dedicated coalition in each business unit, and a Pandemic Response Team at each facility. The Crisis Response Team continues to monitor the CDC and WHO guidelines, as well as government orders around the world that may affect our employees. As the guidance continues to change, we adjust our procedures and provide updated training materials and resources to help the local Pandemic Response Teams implement the procedures.

HEALTH SCREENING – We have modified attendance policies related to COVID-19 around the world to ensure that when employees feel unwell, they stay home and seek medical care. We are screening all employees and visitors for COVID-19 symptoms before they enter our facilities. Anyone who shows or communicates symptoms of COVID-19, has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or who tests positive will not be allowed in our facilities. They will be advised to self-isolate and contact their medical provider.

SOCIAL DISTANCING – Employees around the world have been educated on the importance of social distancing. We have done extensive layout changes in our manufacturing facilities to distance employees. We have also rearranged the breakrooms and other shared spaces to better accommodate safe distances between employees. Workers are encouraged to work remotely wherever possible and hold meetings virtually. We also have limited visitors to our facilities and restricted business travel to further limit exposure to the outside.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT – As evidence continues to support the use of masks as an effective way to limit the spread of COVID-19, we instituted an all-company mask policy. All employees and visitors must wear an approved mask or face covering while inside our facilities. Employees and visitors are being provided a general-purpose mask when they enter our facilities, or they can bring an approved mask from home.

HYGIENE & SANITIZATION – Our facilities and maintenance teams are regularly cleaning and disinfecting our facilities throughout the day. We have also been training and educating employees on the importance of good hygiene, including frequent hand washing and sanitizing. To help with these efforts, we provide various disinfectants, including hand sanitizer, throughout our facilities.

EXPOSURE SITUATIONS – If we learn of a potential exposure within our facilities, maintenance teams and/or an outside disinfection company perform a thorough cleaning of the affected area, in addition to the regular efforts to clean and sanitize. If employees test positive for COVID-19, they must remain away from the workplace until their medical providers determine they are no longer contagious and it is safe for them to return to work.
